    Hello Rosanne
Hope first names O/K, if not sorry.
We just had a few days away in Sark, but missed your new gallery. We went round to have a look but on the wrong day. We saw you a while ago. Will have to order your sketchbook the £35 version looks good.
One day I’d like to commision an original if possible, I wondered if you’d consider a scene of the old lighthouse flashing a ruby red light, dont know what you thimk. Must have been a sight to see.
We stayed with your pal Briony who looked after us well at BeauSejour. We had a grand time, but never was long enough. Sad to se the Mayfield studio gone. That was a bit of history and I can only think of one similar place, in the UK anyway. You shouldnt have let it go!
Anyway we will be back some day I hope. Coll my wife is a Jersey girl, one of the Bisson family, her father was a Jersey potato farmer at St John, and as a result we have been visiting Sark and the other Islands off and on for the last while. I wish we could have a permanent holiday there!
Am in the same line of business as you are, but nearly had enough, recession etc.,
I have approx. 25 commissions ahead but mail order gets more and more difficult and we have relied on it to boost up the earnings. We plan to do one last calendar at Xmas then next year am 65 so I hope to retire from painting the waggons I normally do and get back to the sort of thing I started painting many years ago as an art student which was abstract/semi abstract work.
We met a couple of the carriage drivers going about and will maybe try a picture one of the days. It is my sort of thing in a way.
Good Luck and wishing you well with the lovely pictures.
    Alan
